The Maldent Team

Dr Michael Wieder
Practice Owner – Principal Dentist
Michael qualified in 1982 from the UCH Dental School London. After working as an associate dentist in Waltham Cross he bought the present practice in Malden Road in 1985 and has been working in general dentistry, developing and expanding the practice over the last 40 years. During this time Michael has been very active in many postgraduate dental fields.
For over 20 years Michael was working as a Clinical Assistant in Orthodontics in Barnet and QE2 Hospitals. In 2003 he obtained a Diploma in Restorative Dental Practice (UCH) with diplomas in a variety of subjects including implants and general restorative dentistry and in 2011 was granted an MSc(UCH) with a thesis on denture construction.
He has been very active in dental education for over 20 years as an Educational Supervisor for Health Education England and has trained many newly qualified dentists in the practice.
To support this he has gained a PgCert Dental Education(distinc.) in 2020. He has published papers in the prestigious BDJ and has written widely on a variety of subjects.
For over 30 years Michael has been involved in the Local Dental Committee of Camden and Islington and is now Chair of the new Camden LDC.

Dr Alan Wieder
Dentist
Alan graduated from Kings College London in 2015, after completing the 5 year BDS training programme, and has been working in general practice since. Alan’s devotion to his patients, together with his easy-going and friendly manner, has built him strong patient bases and excellent reviews at all practices where he has worked.
Postgraduate Education
Alan is committed to postgraduate education, a necessity to keep up to date with the latest advancements and to be able to offer the highest level of patient care.
MJDF (RCS England)
In 2018 Alan completed the 2 Part MJDF examinations, from the Royal College of Surgeons, England. This postgraduate diploma is considered a ‘stamp of approval’ as to the dentist’s knowledge and skills across the full spectrum of dental care.
MSc Restorative Dentistry
In October 2021, after 2 years of intensive study, assignments and hard work, Alan completed his postgraduate Masters Degree in Restorative Dentistry from the University of Birmingham. This course is aimed at developing advanced skills across the full range of dental treatments-from simple fillings, to advanced smile makeovers. With a strong focus on Minimally Invasive Dentistry, the course has helped Alan to develop expert skills in the use of direct composite to provide natural-looking sculpted white fillings in back teeth, and cosmetic bonding for front teeth. Certificate in Cosmetic & Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry
Alan has also recently completed the 1 year course from Advanced Dental Seminars in Cosmetic and Aesthetic Dentistry. This was run by the renowned Dr Chris Orr, one of the pioneers of cosmetic dentistry in the UK.
Outside of Dentistry
Outside of dentistry (if there’s such a thing!) Alan is a family man, who enjoys spending time with his wife and young children. He is active in several community charities, and has been a volunteer organiser for a local youth organisation for over 15 years.

Dr Rubi Ahmed

She has successfully completed post-graduate qualifications including a Diploma in Endodontics at the prestigious UCL Eastman dental institute and post-graduate certificates in Sedation and Pain Management and in Dental Education.
Rubi is qualified as a dentist with Special Interest in Endodontics and is able to provide complex root canal treatments at Maldent Dental Practice.
In her spare time Rubi enjoys swimming, cinema, travel and spending time with her family and her beloved dog.
Dr Sammy Figa

He enjoys providing high-quality patient care and has a particular interest in supporting and managing dental anxiety in patients of all ages, helping to create a calm and reassuring clinical environment.
Committed to continuous professional development, he has completed numerous postgraduate courses delivered by specialists across a range of dental disciplines, allowing him to maintain high clinical standards and broaden his expertise.
Outside of work, he enjoys running and spending time outdoors, activities that help him maintain a positive balance between professional and personal life.
Dr. Jaimini Shah

Jaimini graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2016. Since then, she has completed comprehensive training in general dental practice and spent a year further developing her clinical skills at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Dental Law and Ethics, awarded with Commendation. Committed to ongoing learning, Jaimini pursues advanced training to ensure her patients receive the most up-to-date and exceptional care.
Jaimini is committed to providing gentle, patient-centred care. Her friendly and approachable manner helps patients feel comfortable and at ease, and she takes the time to understand each individual’s needs and concerns. She prioritises clear, concise communication and ensures patients fully understand each stage of their treatment.
Outside of dentistry, Jaimini enjoys travelling, hiking, and spending quality time with her friends and family.
Magdalena Rachwal

Magdalena has 18 years of experience in dental industry in UK.
During her career she worked in multiple private and NHS dental practices.
Magdalena’s passion is improving the oral health and quality of life of every patient she treats. She believes prevention of oral health disease is key.
Magdalena’s holistic approach and caring attitude enables her to adept in sensitive situations where people might feel uncomfortable or nervous. She is great in creating relaxing atmosphere and building rapport with young and old.
Her aim is to provide the highest quality patient care, following the most up-to date guidance.
Each of her patient is cared for individually, and she always adapts her treatment according to their needs.
She also regularly attends national conferences to constantly expand her knowledge.
In spare time she enjoys travelling, watching movies, or go to gym.

Kate S trained at Newcastle University and has recently joined the Maldent team. She is dedicated to improving the oral health of her patients and is committed to building confidence and comfort to ensure every visit to Maldent is a positive experience. Natalie Connor has been a dedicated dental nurse for 24 years, gaining experience across a wide range of dental practices. She is passionate about patient care and the ever-evolving field of dentistry.

I have been working as a dental nurse since 1989, I fell into this profession by sheer luck and my passion for dentistry has grown ever since.
I qualified in 1998 (NEBDN) Guys Hospital.

I thoroughly enjoy my job and take it very seriously. I am currently head nurse at Maldent Dental Practice.
I have been at Maldent for many years and know many of the patients long-term, I have seen families grow, and also seen the next generation coming through the door, which is great as this shows confidence in our services.
I enjoy the contact with patients and get job satisfaction from helping transform patients smiles.
There is nothing more gratifying than to see a patient who is happy and grateful for the service we have provided.
I hope that at Maldent we can continue to provide an outstanding service to the local community and afar and that I will be part of that journey.

As one of the first friendly faces you’ll meet at the practice, Melissa is dedicated to creating a warm, welcoming, and positive experience for every patient. She takes great pride in building genuine relationships and helping patients feel comfortable and at ease from the moment they arrive. For Melissa, forming meaningful connections and contributing to a supportive atmosphere is one of the most rewarding aspects of her role.
Outside of work, Melissa is an animal lover who enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors on long walks. These experiences keep her energised, open-minded, and ready to greet each day — and every patient — with a smile.

I have been a valued member of the Maldent Dental Team since 2005. Working on the front desk, she is often the first point of contact for our patients and takes great pride in creating a welcoming, friendly, and supportive environment for patients of all ages. She considers it a privilege to be part of such a dedicated dental team and is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service to our diverse community.
Outside of work, I am a full-time mum to her three beautiful boys. She enjoys spending quality time with family and friends and has a love for travel, always eager to explore new places and create lasting memories.
