Composite Fillings

White fillings (Composite)
White composite fillings are tooth coloured and can match aesthetically to be virtually undetectable. A composite filling can be provided over a single appointment. The filling bonds to the remaining tooth structure and the current composites on the market are considered strong and reliable, just like the older amalgam fillings.
Amalgam (Silver) fillings
Amalgam fillings are made from a mixture of various metals which results in a silver appearance. Amalgam fillings are strong and have been used in dentistry for hundreds of years. Due to their colour they are more noticeable than composite fillings and may not be suitable in visible areas.
